The heaven, even the heavens, are the LORD’S: but the earth hath he given to the children of men. (Psalm 115:16)
Many from every nation, tongue and color, blame God for every evil done on earth and to them. They question God’s goodness with the phrase “if God is a loving God, why is there so much bad on earth, why do the good suffer?”
I’ve listed here three scriptures that explain the evils found on earth, which are Psalm 115:16; Isaiah 14:15 and Ezekiel 28:16-17.
In Psalm 115:16 we learn that God gave responsibility of managing earth to men, and we also read this in Genesis 2:15. God gave Adam the job and responsibility of managing and keeping His garden (the earth). So, like Adam, mankind have the responsibility of controlling the affairs of earth by:
- Managing the earth through agriculture. We are to work the ground to produce food for our livelihood.
- Being creative with inventions for our convenience.
- Managing and controlling the animal kingdom.
- Procreation. We are to replenish the earth with like humans and to teach them the truths of God and the love of God.
We, however, were never given the power to control each other. This is mankind’s biggest problem! We feel the need to control others with false power. That’s why we have dictators and men hungry for false power to rule over others.
Our answer to the above question is also found in Isaiah 14:15 and Ezekiel 28:16-17. These scriptures reveal to the reader there is an evil enemy lurking about. This enemy has many names, such as Lucifer, Satan, the serpent, the devil, and several other names. He is not equal to God. He is however, a created angel who wanted to be God. He influenced 1/3 of the created angels in heaven to revolt against God. Satan and the 1/3 angels were cast out of heaven for their evil and landed on earth.
Satan wanders through earth seeking victims to use as his puppet to kill, steal and destroy their lives. Satan uses people, unknowingly, to hurt others. He is the Father of lies and has deceived many to believe God is an angry unloving God. He has also deceived many with lies about God not being the creator of earth and mankind.
Satan counterfeits everything good that God created or has done with his evils. God is love and peace, so Satan tricks men into:
- Starting wars
- Couples divorcing
- Feuds in families
- People killing one another
- Being creative with drugs, alcohol, sexual sins
- Loving money
- False power
Friends, all evil devices originate from Satan and his evil demons (fallen angels).
Some don’t believe in Satan because they can’t see him! However, we can’t see God but we are quick to blame Him for all evil that attacks our lives. Satan is as real as the skin on our body and he hates you because God loves you.
The reason for our adversities can be found within the volumes of the Bible because:
- Satan and 1/3 of the angels were cast out of heaven for their sins.
- Eve was deceived by Satan.
- Adam sinned through disobedience which affected all mankind.
The good news is found in John 3:16-17. Jesus Christ paid a great price to set all that are bound by Satan, with sin, to be set free. The choice is ours to make.
God is our creator and He loves us very much! When God created every individual, He inherently placed within them the knowledge that there is a Being greater than themselves. It is our responsible to seek God and to learn of His goodness in our lives. Once again, because God gifted us the gift of “choice,” He will not force anyone to Believe in Him.
Friends, I encourage you to study the Bible. God loves us very much, and it breaks His heart to see all the evil being done on earth; but He will not override our decisions. We can choose to believe Satan’s lies and live a life in darkness, or believe God and live in His Light of love and peace.
