Devotional:  “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, And a light unto my path.” (Psalm 119:105 KJV)

Our entire neighbor lost electrical power for several hours one evening! It was so dark we couldn’t see our hands, nor walk in any room without bumping into something.

My husband stumbled around the house until he found a flashlight. Once in his hands, he turned it on! The bright light gave us a clear path and guided us to find our way around our home until the power came on.

This incident brought to mind today’s scripture – “thy Word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” God’s Word gives the faithful Believer clear direction and guidance for any adversity they may encounter.

The Bible tells us that Jesus is the Word, which means He is the Light we need! Jesus is our Spiritual GPS to maneuver us through adversities or pitfalls we find ourselves in as we travel our individual journeys.

I’ve learned through personal experience that whenever adversities come our way that we can run to the Light. As we seek the LORD through His Word, He will give us the direction and wisdom we need to be victorious during times of adversities.

When at a crossroads about decision-making, the Word will guide us with help in making right decisions.

Do you need comfort, peace, joy, or self-control, the Word of God will guide us with clear direction to find whatever is lacking in our lives.

When we go to the Word for our answers, the LIGHT (God’s Word) will illuminate the TRUTH into our spirit. Friends, we can find ALL our answers and hope in GOD’S WORD! The Bible is the only Book in the world that is new and fresh each morning! As we are guided to the truth in God’s Word, we will learn that our problems aren’t as big as we thought them to be!

Try the Word of God it’s timeless! When we allow the Word to be our GPS as our “guiding light” on our life’s journey, the road won’t be so bumpy!

Financial Fitness 101: Managing money can be a major problem for many if they are not accountable for what God has blessed them with. If you find yourself frequenting the ATM weekly or calling the bank’s automatic system for your checking account balance, then there’s a problem?

God’s Word tells us that we are to be good stewards of what He has entrusted us with by being careful to know the estate of our financial affairs (Prov. 27:23-24).

The first step of accountability begins by recording every transaction made from our checking account.

The second step of accountability begins by keeping a log of our creditors. Record creditor name, account owed, payment amount, due date, and interested.

The third step of accountability is not spending more than available or more than our income.

Managing our finances, by knowing at all times our financial affairs, takes the guest work out of funds available and will eliminate bounced checks. Start your accountability journey by recording your bank transaction on Bank Ledger and keeping a list of your creditors on a Creditor’s Log.
