Did you know that there are many emotional and soul healing benefits we can receive by studying the Bible? Also, did you know that, the Bible teaches us truths that many of us have forgotten or have not known such as:
Our Origin: Studying the Word of God teaches the truth about creation. We learn how we came to existence, why the world exists, and why the world is in such chaos. Plus, most importantly, we learn that God is our “Founding Father!” We exist because He created us!
God’s Plan for Creation: The Word teaches us that God created us for family. We were created to be His children. We were created to enjoy His presence in our lives. We were created to be in relationship with Father God and others. God’s plan was and still is for His children to have a relationship with Him enjoying all His Promises as outlined in the Bible. God originally created mankind to live forever with Him. Sin, however, put a “pause” in the “forever,” but as we study the Word, we will learn how the forever will come about.
God’s Character: We will learn that God is love, peace, joy, full of compassion, merciful, longsuffering, a covenant keeper, and a God of wrath against evil. The Old Testament, especially, reveals every aspect of God’s character. Learning God’s character draws us close to Him in love. We learn through studying the Word why God hates evil and how evil is cancerous and destructive. The Old and New Testament both reveals to us how God will eliminate sin and usher in His kingdom of peace.
Believers Identity: The Word of God teaches us our true identity, which is in Christ and not this world. This world wants us to be identified with ungodly ways of who they think we should be, how they want us to think, act, dress, define our gender, etc. Studying the Word reveals our true identity, purpose, and gender.
Personal Transformation: As we study the Word of God, it will spot-light areas in our lives that we need to surrender for change from our old way of thinking and living. The Word will teach us how to cast down all old worldly thoughts, habits, and imaginations. We will learn how to embrace “kingdom thinking and living.”
Waging Spiritual Warfare Victoriously: We don’t fight as the world fights with anger and violence! God’s way is outlined in His Word. We wage war with spiritual weapons that gives the Believer victory every time.
Love, Comfort, and Peace: The Word has supernatural power to bring comfort and peace to a hurting or wounded soul. Whatever we are going through life, Father God, through His Word, brings divine comfort, peace, and love to His hurting children.
This is a short list of emotional and spiritual benefits, but enough to peak one’s interest to discover the blessings, promises, and benefits found in the Bible – God’s Word, for a victorious and abundant life.
Don’t forget, the Bible contains every answer we need for living on earth. Try it, you won’t be disappointed!
