The Jetsons

This year for Mother’s Day my daughter gave me a “Smart Cup.”  This smart cup will keep your hot drink at your desired temperature from an App downloaded to your “Smart Phone.”  We now have a Google Home Mini, so my son bought me a “Smart Light Bulb,” which I can now control the lighting in my livingroom by a App on my phone.

As I sit here drinking from my smart cup, I am reminded of a cartoon I enjoyed watching as a teenager, “The Jetsons.”   This cartoon, which aired in the early 60’s, was a futuristic cartoon with characters living in a fast-paced high-tech lifestyle. The mode of transportation were vehicles that looked like spaceships.  Homes were what we today call “smart homes.” Robots were the family maids.  Communication was a smart TV with a visual display.  I can remember watching this cartoon show thinking life will never be like that.  Wrong!  We have embraced the futuristic lifestyle of the Jetson’s.  All new homes, if you can afford them, are smart homes.  The newest apartment buildings are now “smart complex” living; vehicles are now self-driven!  You know who is walking on your property without opening your door; you can talk to your stove, refrigerator, or water facet; command your cell phone to make calls, I am just skimming the surface, because I haven’t even listed advancements from the medical field, but I am quite sure you readers get the idea.  The futuristic technology that concerns me the most is the technology of having a micro-chip implant because it makes it “faster” to get through checkout lines or to clock into work!  My biggest complaint about all this futuristic technology is that man has forgotten who has given them the ability to create and develop this smart technology.  Plus, everyone is in a big hurry to “out do” each other in the area of “high-tech.”

When reading articles or listening to news updates about this “smart technology” it is quite obvious man is trying to make themselves independent from their Creator. While I do enjoy the ease and benefits of some of this technology, I draw the line at “micro-chip implants.”  This is where individuals need to read the Bible and pay close attention to what’s is really happening in this world.   While getting a “micro-chip” may seem productive worldwide and helps with one’s patience getting through a checkout line, they don’t realize that all this smart technology is a subtle way of desensitizing one’s knowledge from the truth.  In the Book of Revelation we are given a warning about this:  “And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:  And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.  Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.”  Revelation 13:16-18 KJV.

Several articles have been written about employees having this micro-chip implant in their hands, and news updates are publicized quite often on national TV, but unfortunately, many individuals are very closed minded about this topic, many thinking there is nothing wrong with the implant. Unfortunately, they don’t realize this is just “dress rehearsal” before the real mark will be mandatory.  These individuals will be so desensitized in their minds, regarding the truth, that they will be fooled into taking the “real mark from” the beast, who is satan.  We are also told in the Bible anyone that takes the “mark of the beast” will be doomed to eternal damnation.  That’s a costly price to pay for having a “lack of knowledge and understanding” of the truth!  The truth!  Jesus will return one day!  That day no one knows, however before His return ALL have an opportunity to accept Him as Savior of their life.   Accepting Jesus as your Savior gives one eternal life with Him.  Don’t be fooled by all this “futuristic technology!”  Yes, enjoy the benefits of  smart technology, but know the TRUTH, don’t become fooled by satan’s deceptions.  Eternal damnation is not worth embracing satan’s mark for our lack of patience.
