God encourages us in His Word to “call unto Him and He will answer us and show us great and mighty things, which we know not” (Jeremiah 33:3). This is a great invitation from Almighty God who wants a personal relationship with each of His children. I’ve learned the best way to know Almighty God is by calling unto Him through the power of His names. Each one of His names represents the nature of the power His name, which describe His awesome character of a “live and active God” with His creation. You need a provider for whatever venture you have been called to perform, call upon Jehovah Jireh! Is there an ache of loneliness in your heart because you desire a relationship, call upon Jehovah God to fill that void! You want to know about creation, call upon Elohim, our Creator.

Today we will learn about Jehovah Tsaba – “the LORD our Warrior” also known as “the LORD of Hosts.” Jehovah Tsaba is revealed to us through David in 1 Samuel 17:45 “Then said David to the Philistine, thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the “LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou has defied. This day will the LORD deliver thee into mine hand; and I will smit thee, and take thine head from thee; and I will give the carcases of the host of the Philistines this day unto the fowls of the air, and to the wild beasts of the earth; that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel.” David was fighting Goliath, the giant warrior of the Philistine army. This giant taunted the Israelite army for many days of their inability to fight him or to defeat him. The Israelite army, under king Saul leadership, were huddled in fear and afraid to fight Goliath.
When David approached the battlefield, he didn’t see Goliath as a threat, instead he saw Goliath as an obstacle that needed taken out of the way. David knew Almighty God and believed Him to be an unstoppable Warrior so he didn’t allow the boastful threats of Goliath to intimidate him. He called upon Jehovah Tsaba! In 1 Samuel 17:47 we read David saying: “and all this assembly shall know that the LORD saveth not with sword and spear: for the battle is the LORD’s and He will give you into our hands.” We know the end of the story, Jehovah Tsaba, through David killed Goliath. David knew this victory wasn’t his strength or might, it was Jehovah Tsaba’s strength and might that defeated Goliath the giant that was in his path.

We all from time to time have Goliaths in our lives such as: financial debt, health issues, rebellious children, job related problems, marital problems, etc., know that Jehovah Tsaba is bigger than any Goliath in our lives. Don’t be intimidated by what you see! These Goliaths may taunt you, boast at you, cause you sleepless nights, but that Goliath in your life can and will come down when you trust in Jehovah Tsaba to fight your battles for you. Ephesians chapter 6 instructs us to do our part and once we have, then stand in the power of prayer to Jehovah Tsaba with confidence in Him to bring those Goliaths down and allow Him to restore His peace in your life.
