“Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ’s sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy” (1Peter 4:12-13).
Growing up I thought earth was the only place of existence and that hard times would always be a way of life. Thank God I was wrong, once I became a child of God that thought process changed! I quickly learned that life on earth is a journey not a destination. And, that we will experience hard times such as, offenses, wounds from our past, trials and/or tribulations as we travel on earth. As our Lord Jesus suffered, we too will suffer because there is an evil dark kingdom controlled by satan with demons at his beck and call. They are the enemies of our LORD, and ours too! My years before knowing Jesus, I blamed God for everything that happened to me; and as a Christian before I knew about satan attacks on Believers, I thought I lived under a dark cloud sent from God allowing me to suffer.
Friends, learning the evil strategies of our enemy, satan, will keep us from being surprised as if something strange has happened to us. We will learn Believers are engaged, unwilling, in an invisible war waged in the spirit realm. We need to be prepared to combat this evil enemy with the battle artillery given to us by our Heavenly Father.
This battle is called spiritual warfare, and it is our responsibility to learn how to wage war in the spirit against satan and his demons. Victory is available for every Believer as we use the spiritual weapons Father God has outlined in His Word.
If you are currently going through a fiery trial, remember the battle has already been won for you at the Cross by Jesus. People are not our enemy, they are being used by the real enemy. So, stand firm in your faith praying and using the Word of God as your weapon to defeat satan and his demons. Remember, earth is not the final destination for Believers, we are passing through; so, fight the good fight of faith knowing you are more than a conqueror in Christ Jesus, who already won the battle for all Believers. When you do, you will learn three valuable tips:
1. Because Jesus loved us before the foundation of the world He went to the Cross for the entire world, to set them free.
2. Jesus was a sinless sacrifice that took every person’s sin upon Himself to pay every person’s debt of sin.
3. Others may have offended us, but we too offend others with our unsurrendered woundedness and trespasses.
Jesus suffered greatly for us on the Cross for whosoever will trust in Him for eternal life, so Believers should learn obedience and walk daily in their victories knowing one day soon, “that, when his (Jesus) glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy” (1Peter 4:12-13).
