When God Is Silent

Hey Friends,

Can I share something with you?

For several months, I had been reasoning with Father God about our ministry. I asked Him several questions about how to proceed with new ideas… but He was silent.

Nothing. No response for months.

And you know what happened?
I became disappointed — and started doubting Father God.

Has that ever happened to you?

Then I noticed something: I began redirecting my disappointment toward my husband, friends, and even family.

Wow—me! A minister!

Yes, me. I’m not perfect. I’m human, with emotions.

I allowed disappointment to control my thoughts and reactions in a negative way.

I began to think that maybe Father God didn’t love me — and that’s why He wasn’t answering.

But here’s what I learned: No matter how long we’ve walked with Father God, He will test our motives and actions.

My motive? “Give me what I asked for!”

And when He didn’t, I fell back into old patterns of unbelief — thinking God didn’t care about me.

That’s when He began to show me something powerful.

As a child, when I asked my earthly father for something, he would often say, “No,” or “Go ask your mother.”

Over time, I came to believe he didn’t love me or care about what mattered to me.

He was a good provider but not emotionally present.

Then the Lord revealed something I’d never realized: I had transferred that same disappointment from my earthly father to my Heavenly Father.

Wow—what a lesson!

The Lord helped me see that my earthly father did love me; he just didn’t know how to express it, because his father never showed him love.

We can’t give what we’ve never received.
