Soul Food Encouragement Week #4

Scripture for The Week: Matthew 5:13-14 (KJV) “Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men. Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.”

Praises To The LORD: LORD, thank you for choosing us (your children) to represent you to as the salt and light to the world!

Character That Inspires Me: The Apostle Paul is a great inspiration for the Church. He didn’t let influences of an ungodly world he lived in hinder him from evangelizing the Word of God to those in need of the Good News of the Gospel. Paul never lost his “salt of godly influence” to teach and preach the gospel of the Cross everywhere the Lord sent him.

Self-Care: This week eliminate distractions so that you can be a light to someone in need of the Good News of the Gospel.

In Your Journal Record:

1. Distractions you can eliminate from your life.

2. I am the salt and light, representing Jesus.

Declare: I will devote time to studying the Word of God so I don’t let my salt lose its savour.

Thought Life: This week, I choose not to let my light go dim. My light will point others to Jesus.

Prayer: Lord, thank you for choosing me to represent your kingdom. Order my steps today to be a light to someone who is in need of “hope and life” that is found only in you.

Listen To: Listen to this song: “In The Valley He Restoreth My Soul” on YouTube

Prayer:  Watch “Start Everyday With This Prayer” on YouTube.

Affirmation:  JESUS is the LIGHT that Guides

God’s Character: 1. God is generous and giving; 2. God blesses his children; 3. God keeps His promises from generation-to-generation.

Reflection: God has given us the great responsibility of being the salt and the light on earth. As salt and light bearers, we are to influence others with the Good News of the Gospel with our actions and with our words. Lord, equip us and send us out according to your will.
